I'm Molly Turner, a 24 year-old Professional Beach Volleyball Athlete. I grew up in Illinois and went to college at Grand Canyon University. I followed my dream to play Professional Beach Volleyball the moment I graduated and landed in Hermosa Beach, CA.
I have struggled with body image since I was in middle school but it became a larger issue when I was in college. My desire to reach out for help did not happen until I was out of school and lived on my own. When I was able to finally ask for help and attend therapy, my life changed completely.
I know what it's like to feel alone and broken. I know that you feel like you're the only one feeling this way and that no one can understand how your mind works and why you do the things you do. But I am here to normalize the conversations, because this is much more common than you are able to realize.
I want to exploit the topics that you find cringe-y. I want to write about the things that make you feel distant. I want to be the person you can relate to when you feel alone.
The bottom line is I have been there and I am still there. I am not done learning and progressing. I have a long way to go, but we all do. And I hope that I can normalize the things we hide from others, because those things are truly raw and beautiful.
